Music at St Richard's
"There is music in every child. The teacher's job is to find it and nurture it." - Francis Clarke
Music in Early Years
In Early Years we believe that children should be allowed to find out about their world by exploring many different resources. We believe that Music is a universal language that embodies one of the highest forms of creativity. A high quality music education will inspire and engage pupils to develop a love and curiosity of music.
In Early Years, children are encouraged to participate in activities which will develop their confidence and musical knowledge. Through the teaching of song, pattern and beat, children will use their voices to develop their aural memory and experiment with and create sound.
The use of musical language begins in Early Years and this allows the children to articulate the skills they are developing and allows them to express their own musical tastes and preferences
