Year 5 & Year 6 Retreat
On Wednesday 16th January 2019 Year 5 and Year 6 visited ‘Animate Youth Ministries’ for a day retreat. The theme of the retreat was to ‘Love your neighbour’ and based on Mark 12:31.
The children looked at how they are called to care for those around them and to treat others as they would like to be treated. The children also learned how it is important to respect each other and to think about the needs of others before their own.
The retreat consisted of many fantastic group activities in which the children worked together to overcome challenges they faced. The children were also tasked with thinking about the local and wider community of which they are part and how they are responsible for their brothers and sisters around the world. They also talked about social justice and appeals such as Cafod Family Feast Days and the Good Shepherd appeals which work tirelessly to improve the lives of others.
Year 5 and Year 6 really enjoyed the retreat and took away many valuable messages.
